Our story

Back in 1991, Paul E. Gallant, a Canadian working in the music industry for the past decade, had an ingenious idea to revisit in a bold and original way the traditional jigsaw puzzle: adding a new dimension. He shook the toy industry to its core by inventing the first 3D puzzle, made of foam-backed jigsaw puzzle pieces. He branded is new invention Puzz3D.

Americans and the Britons sometimes used the word "frog" in a derogatory way to designate French or French-speaking people. To thwart that, Paul consciously selected the frog as the company logo to show the world the extent of French-speaking Canadians sense of ingenuity and innovation. The name Wrebbit was also inspired by the onomatope used to represent a frog's sound, "ribbit".
